While stress can be adaptive in moderate, short-term doses, prolonged exposure without adequate recovery escalates to fatigue and eventually to burnout, which is characterized by deep exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced efficacy. This course develops knowledge of types of burnout, contributing factors and differences between stress, burnout and fatigue. Participants then develop self-insight in to their own triggers, microstressors, the stress response cycle and cognitive reframing of their maladaptive burnout related beliefs.
